About KLSA

The Kaiserslautern Landstuhl Spouses’ Association (KLSA) is an organization committed to building and supporting the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC) through charitable, educational, and social endeavors. KLSA has helped shape the KMC into the beautiful place it is today. As a group of dedicated spouses from all ranks and services, we band together to help make a difference and strive to make the KMC the best place to work and live for our military families. Our motto is “Fun, Friends & Philanthropy.”

Community Giving

Giving back to the community is the KLSA’s top priority and also our greatest reward. To achieve our goal and impact as many people as possible within the KMC, the KLSA raises funds through sales at our Landstuhl Thrift Shop.  This enables us to provide community grants to local organizations, scholarships for spouses, university students, and graduating high school seniors throughout the KMC with the combined Scholarship Program, and assist qualifying school age children of active duty soldiers by providing eye glasses as a part of our Bright Eyes project.

Socials & Happenings

Our monthly socials are open to members and guests. Each month has a different theme — from Oktoberfest to Bingo to Women’s History Month — and presents the perfect opportunity to make new friends and support our community. Signing up only takes a click.

Welcome Letter from the President

Dear members and guests,

Willkommen or Welcome to the Kaiserslautern Landstuhl Spouses’ Association (KLSA)! Thank you for choosing to be a part of this fantastic organization. Your membership will allow you to make a real and lasting difference in the community, as well as to make new friends and participate in a myriad of exciting activities.

The KLSA is both a social and a service organization, at which the very heart of our legacy is our philanthropic work, this sets us apart from other organizations.  Last year we gave away just under $50,000 in Community Grants and Scholarships, and our amazing team of volunteers gave roughly 10,000 hours of their time! While those numbers are no doubt impressive, over the past five years we’ve given away nearly $300,000. The KLSA is clearly an organization committed to building each other up while enhancing the lives of those living and serving in the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC).

With the help of our amazingly generous volunteers, and the oversight of a small staff, KLSA successfully operates the Landstuhl Thrift Shop, with over 30 years of continued operation.  All proceeds generated at our Thrift Shop are the cornerstone of our spirit of giving.  This year, we are highlighting a local agency in need at each of our monthly socials. Be on the lookout for our luncheon flyers as they will contain the specific donation requests for each months event.

In addition to our numerous charitable endeavors, the KLSA is a wonderful place to meet new people and to learn a new hobby, or perfect an old one. Please take advantage of our monthly luncheons, as well as our special member only activities, including but not limited to: lunch bunch, quilting, walking/hiking, bunco; just to name a few! We are still fine tuning this area, if you want to take the reins on an activity, or have an idea for an activity, please let us know!

Volunteerism is at the very heart of KLSA and we welcome new volunteers with open arms. Becoming a volunteer with KLSA allows you to plug in and connect with your community while making a difference in the lives of those your service touches.  Additionally, you will make new friends along the way.

Whether you’re passing through or you’re planning to put your feet up and stay awhile, I hope you’ll find your place amongst friends in the KLSA.

 Willkommen in Deutschland!
