Bright Eyes
KLSA’s Bright Eyes program allows qualifying families in the KMC, excluding Baumholder, to receive a credit of $89.95 towards the purchase of eyeglasses.

Does your child need eyeglasses? KLSA can help!
You can get them from the KMCC Optical shop if you are the following:
A dependent of an active duty service person stationed and living in the KMC area (infant through 12th grade).
You qualify for the Free Lunch Program.
For the Bright Eyes Program, the Bright Eyes POC for KLSA will use the AAFES Free Lunch program qualification guidelines to determine eligibility.

Process to Apply for Bright Eyes
Process for students who are in a DoDEA school:
Sponsor emails brighteyes@klsa.org:
- Sponsor name
- Sponsor’s unit
- Names of the household members
- Name of child(ren) needing glassesBright Eyes POC will verify the information with AAFES.
Upon receipt of positive verification, the Bright Eyes POC will issue a qualification memo via email to the servicemember.
Servicemember or spouse must bring the memo to the KMCC Optical Shop to receive a credit of $89.95 toward a pair of glasses. This is good
for one pair, per child, per school year.*
Process for students who are in a Non-DoDEA school (examples: home schooled or attending a German school):
The sponsor will email Parent Central Services usarmy.rheinland-pfalz.imcom-europe.mbx.dfmwr-cyss-mailbox@mail.mil
with:
The following info: Sponsor name, the Sponsor’s unit, names of the household members, and name of child(ren) needing glasses and
a request for a time to present their LES to Parent Central Services to verify their information.**
After Parent Central Services meets with the servicemember, they will send an email to the Bright Eyes POC which states the name of the servicemember and verifies the income amount and the number of dependents only.
Upon receipt of verification, the Bright Eyes POC will determine qualification against the AAFES Free Lunch guidelines. If the servicemember qualifies, the Bright Eyes POC will issue a qualification memo via email to the servicemember.

*A school year is defined as the first day of the fall semester through the last day before the start of the following fall semester.
**Parent Central Services will only process information for sponsors whose dependents attend a non-DoDEA school.
