Activity on Kootenay Lake dates back centuries. The waters have been plyed by First Nations canoes, sternwheelers, hand powered skiffs, high speed raceboats and endless forms of power and sail craft. The Kootenay Lake Sailing Association is active on the Lake promoting and facilitating all aspects of recreational and competitive sailing... -Fair winds, see you on the water.

KLSA Youth Program now a reality!
The Kootenay Lake Youth Sailing Association through the Youth Sailing Program provides sailing opportunities for children and enables the youth of the West Kootenay region to get out on the water and enjoy the challenge and excitement of the sport of sailing in a positive, supportive and safe environment. The Kootenay Lake Youth Sailing Program is in demand in this community as demonstrated by the tremendous success in 2010, achieving the highest ever community involvement of any first year Youth Sailing program in British Columbia supported by BC Sailing, graduating 60 children. The Kootenay Lake Youth Sailing Association will have the ability to provide opportunities to all children regardless of economic circumstance, physical ability or gender.
Lasers! a wish come true!
The Kootenay Lake Youth Sailing Association has been granted a loan to purchase four Lasers for their Youth Sailing Program. The Lasers will be a perfect compilament to small fleet of Optis.
Rum Cup March 18th 2012
Join us on the lake for a 1pm start just south of the Marina. The course will be decided on the water just before the race.
